This strategic move enabled GGL to secure exclusive rights to advanced carbon capture and Biogas Treatment technologies - Galloxol®, Laminol®, and Hybrisol® - all of which have successfully completed projects. Today, eight installations worldwide have been delivered based on these technologies, including four based on Galloxol® technology.
Green Gas & Liquid’s mission
GGL’s mission is clear: help accelerate the energy transition by transforming emissions into valuable products. By capturing CO₂ from flue gases, GGL reduces harmful emissions and repurposes CO₂ for horticulture, food and beverage applications, green fuels, and mineralization processes. In parallel, GGL develops biogas treatment solutions that convert waste streams into renewable energy sources like biomethane and bio-CO₂.
The Carbon Capture Industry
Carbon Capture Utilization (CCU) is a relatively young industry, with its roots in the 1980s and significant growth since 2000. In 2023 alone, USD 11 billion was invested globally in CCU. By 2030, the industry is expected to grow twelvefold, reaching a CCUS capacity of 400 MtCO₂ per year. Governments in Europe are supporting carbon-capture deployment with public funding and subsidy schemes, creating incentives for industries to invest in carbon-capture technologies.
Galloxol®: high purity, low impact
GGL’s Galloxol® technology delivers higher than 99.0% pure CO₂ through a post-combustion absorption process. Unlike traditional amine-based systems, Galloxol® relies on a biodegradable, environmentally friendly, non-corrosive solvent that offers several advantages:
• Zero solvent emissions to the atmosphere or CO₂ stream, thanks to its non-volatile nature.
• Low operating costs, as the solvent is continuously regenerated and reused.
• Reduced CapEx and OpEx compared to conventional amine-based technologies.
This makes Galloxol® ideal for non-petrochemical industries seeking sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
Captured CO₂ can be:
• Used directly in horticulture to boost plant growth.
• Liquefied and purified for food and beverage applications, such as carbonation and preservation.
• Converted into green fuels or used in mineralization for construction materials.
• Or to be stored permanently.

Integrated Solutions
GGL offers a fully integrated solution in which engineering, procurement, project management, commissioning, and start-up are performed in-house. The assembly of skids is executed in collaboration with their reliable partner network under GGL’s strict quality governance.
Each project requires significant lead time, more than a year, due to high investment costs and evolving regulatory frameworks. Despite these challenges, interest is growing, driven by climate goals and the inevitability of stricter CO₂ regulations.
Delivery of a biomass boiler to a tomato producer in Austria
The exporter has supplied the customer with a carbon capture solution integrated with a 5 MW biomass boiler. This will replace the current CHP installation with the Biomass Boiler and Carbon Capture Solution. The new boiler will reduce the customer's natural gas consumption for heating and CO2 requirements. The customer has approximately 8 hectares of tomato production in Vienna, where the production of these tomatoes structurally generates CO2 in the flue gases, which is then emitted. The biomass boiler will ensure that approximately 70%- 90% of this biogenic CO2 is captured and can be reused. In addition to significantly reducing emissions and being resilient on the CO2 Supply, the customer can also generate additional revenue by selling the excess Biogenic CO2 to other customers.
Working capital
GGL was seeking additional working capital, yet their bank was not prepared to issue a loan. Atradius DSB stepped in, and with the support of working capital insurance, the bank became willing to provide the necessary financing Future Perspectives
“Carbon capture will continue to evolve in many directions, but our focus is clear: delivering reliable, scalable solutions for industrial emitters today. That’s where we can make the most meaningful impact.”,” says Laleh Hosseini, Managing Director at GGL. With continuous innovation, carbon capture will remain a cornerstone of global decarbonization efforts.
