Socially Responsible Public Procurement (MVOI)

At Atradius Dutch State Business, we are committed to contributing to the key priorities of socially responsible commissioning and procurement (MVOI). MVOI encompasses a range of themes that are essential to the transition towards a more sustainable and socially responsible world. Through our business operations, we aim to make a meaningful contribution to these priorities.

Being a Responsible Employer

Our success depends on the expertise, creativity and ideas of our people. Fresh perspectives and innovative solutions for our customers emerge when different cultures, knowledge and experiences come together. Diversity is therefore essential to our organisation. We foster an inclusive working environment where everyone feels valued, respected and empowered to contribute.

Career Development

We offer our employees a wide range of learning and development opportunities, including classroom training and e-learning through our internal Academy. These programmes support both professional expertise and essential skills, such as communication, collaboration and time management.

Work-Life Balance

We recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance and supporting mental wellbeing. Employees benefit from flexible working hours, while hybrid working is our standard approach. This flexibility enables colleagues to balance their professional and personal responsibilities effectively, while supporting collaboration, wellbeing and long-term employability.

Climate

On behalf of the Dutch government, Atradius Dutch State Business implements an agenda aimed at accelerating the transition to a climate-neutral economy, strengthening strategic autonomy and enhancing the international competitiveness of Dutch businesses.

Our approach is built around four key pillars:

  1. Supporting low-carbon exports and investments: Encouraging exports and investments in low-carbon technologies, innovations, nature-based solutions and climate adaptation projects.
  2. Reducing transaction-related emissions: Supporting decarbonisation and the reduction of emissions associated with transactions, in line with the COP26 Statement.
  3. Strengthening international collaboration: Working with peer organisations and other stakeholders to advance climate action and promote a level playing field.
  4. Measuring and reporting progress: Monitoring and reporting on our progress towards achieving our climate ambitions.

Climate Impact

In addition to making our portfolio more sustainable, we are also working on limiting the climate impact of our business operations. We monitor our progress by mapping our CO2 footprint annually, in accordance with the guidelines of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The reported categories were selected based on relevance, data quality and availability. As a service organization, our Scope 1 emissions are limited and mainly come from the use of company cars. Scope 2 emissions remain limited, partly because Atradius Netherlands purchases fully green electricity. The most significant emissions from our business operations fall within Scope 3 and are related to business travel. We limit these emissions by facilitating hybrid working and encouraging responsible travel.

Supply chain responsibility

Atradius Dutch State Business applies a risk-based due diligence approach to its supply chain, in line with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the OECD Guidance on IRBC Due Diligence.

A central supplier due diligence system has been implemented within Atradius, in which all suppliers are included step by step. This is done via an internal risk management system. This system ensures that relevant risk checks in the areas of the environment, human rights, working conditions, integrity and governance are carried out and recorded in a consistent manner.

The due diligence approach is proportionate and risk-based. Suppliers with a higher contract value or an increased risk profile are always subject to extensive due diligence.

These principles are anchored in the Atradius Group's purchasing policy. If suppliers or other stakeholders have any questions, they can be reported securely and confidentially via the Atradius Speak Up hotline.
