For applications focused on key technologies, consideration is given to how well they align with the priority key technologies that are important to Dutch and European innovation capacity. In addition, attention is paid to the expected prospects for market application, international scaling up, and export, in order to gain insight into the potential economic and strategic added value of the innovation.
The 10 Key Technologies
The 10 key technologies from the National Technology Strategy include: AI, quantum, photonics, semiconductors, cybersecurity, energy materials, process technology, biomolecular & cell technology, imaging technology, and mechatronics & optomechatronics.
What Is TRL 6 or Higher
TRL (Technology Readiness Level) indicates how far along a technology is in its development. It ranges from an initial scientific concept to a fully commercially applied product.
TRL 6 through 9 relate to the testing, demonstration, introduction, and commercial application of a technology.
