Netherlands & UAE agree to boost high-value trade

DUBAI, 23 March 2022 - Atradius Dutch State Businessthe Dutch export credit agency, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Etihad Credit Insurance, the UAE Federal export credit company

The MoU was signed during a high-level trade mission from the Netherlands to the UAE and the ceremony was attended by HE Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi – Minister of State for Foreign Trade for the UAE and HE Mrs Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister of Trade and Development Cooperation in the Netherlands.

Under the agreement, ADSB is committed to insure innovative capital goods that contribute to regional development and growth for SMEs and corporations based in the Gulf region.  

In addition, the two parties agreed to make commercial information more accessible while advocating an efficient approach towards claims and recoveries in both countries. Both agencies agreed to exchange knowledge on opportunities and challenges in sectors like renewable energy, the circulair economy, water and agrifood. 

In a bid to equip exporters with a competitive edge to expand on a global scale, ECI and ADSB will also organise workshops, B2B meetings, and other events that deepen economic cooperation and extend trade financing and investment support for the focus sectors.
