
More than half of the publicly insured export credits benefited Dutch small and medium-sized enterprises. Claims paid by Atradius Dutch State Business were higher than in 2022, rising to EUR 119 million.

Machinery for food processing and agriculture, solar panels in Africa or medical equipment in South America. Dutch exporters of capital goods and exporters of international contractors submitted 242 applications to Atradius Dutch State Business in 2023. On this basis, 135 policies and 160 promises of cover were issued with an underlying value of over EUR 5 billion compared to EUR 4.8 billion in 2022. Most of the exports insured by the State went to Latin America, followed by Europe and Africa.

Ever stronger focus on sustainability in SME exports
Half of the transactions in 2023 related to relatively small export deals of SMEs with an average value of EUR 1.5 million. The green ECI portfolio also showed another increase and Atradius DSB's new exclusion policy resulted in a lower share of fossil transactions. By 2023, 68 policies worth EUR 1.1 billion were green-labeled; this is more than a third of the total number of policies issued. Green cover, the Climate Investor funds and the Green Shipping Fund additionally contributed another half billion euros in green capital with an export component.
