AMSTERDAM - June 14, 2023 - Atradius DSB has been cooperating with the Dutch State providing public export credit insurance for more than ninety years.
To this end, there is a cooperation agreement in place between the Dutch State and Atradius DSB. Formally the State Secretary of Tax Affairs and Tax Administration, together with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, oversee the Dutch export credit insurance (ECI). On June 14, the State Secretary shared the annual ECI report with the Dutch Parliament, highlighting recent financial and policy details about the Dutch ECI. In an enclosed letter to this report, mention was made of a reported government accounts irregularity regarding the current form of providing export credit insurance.
In short, the irregularity pertains to how the current cooperation agreement was set up. In the coming months, the State will map out different options to achieve compliance. Besides Parliament, also direct stakeholders, including exporters, have been informed.
Please note that the current cooperation agreement is legally binding, the Dutch State and Atradius DSB will continue to meet their obligations. Based on the current agreements, the service provided by Atradius DSB will remain unchanged, at least until 2027. This also applies to the active and future insurance policies issued by Atradius DSB on behalf of the State.
Atradius DSB has been successfully acting as a Export Credit Agency since 1932 and will remain doing so in the coming period. We are committed to continue our serviceat the high level our customers are accustomed to.
