Atradius news

Eltomation is based in Barneveld and has over 20 employees.

The company was founded in 1992 by brothers Paul (Technical Director) and Bert van Elten (Managing Director), but traces its origins back to 1957, when Van Elten Sr. launched his first machines.

They specialise in developing and supplying turnkey production facilities and systems for the production of various types of cementitious building boards such as: Wood Wool Cement Board (WWCB) or wood wool cement board, Medium-density Wood Strand Cement Board and Prefab Large Wall Elements.

The products are used as acoustic and insulating ceiling or wall boards and as roofing boards. In addition, they are used in building systems as permanent formwork board. Eltomation has realised more than 160 of these production sites and systems in around 30 different countries worldwide. In addition, the company holds a large number of patents for self-developed machines.

The machine line for Wood Wool Cement Boards is the most sold. WWCB has many positive features. These include soundproofing, insulation, fire resistance and resistance to moisture. They are used, for instance, in car parks, schools, offices and swimming pools. The boards are currently mainly rectangular in shape, but in the future, users will more often opt for different (decorative) shapes that can be used well in modern offices and houses.

The product also has other advantages. There are no emissions of harmful gases (so it can also be used indoors without any problems), it has a very long lifespan (70+ years) and all waste materials can be recycled.

Production process

The engineering of the machines is done entirely at Eltomation. Production of parts is outsourced to local machine factories and in some cases to companies in Germany, Italy or the Baltic States. Depending on the type of project, a partner is chosen. For this transaction, these include. Machinefabriek Aalbers in Renswoude. Eltomation provides the drawings and supplies the other parts. Aalbers does the sheet-metal work (cutting and welding). When all welded assemblies are ready, the mechanical supervisor and Eltomation's control supervisor test the installation. The customer is often present during this testing. Then, after approval, the assembly is dismantled and shipped.

In Western Europe, some 20 supplied lines of Eltomation are operational on which Wood Wool Cement Board boards are made, together accounting for the production of over 20 million square metres per year and growing. Furthermore, the company has in the past supplied lines to customers in Russia, China, Japan, etc.

Demand for these products is growing due to the popularity of products made from natural raw materials and produced in an energy-efficient way. That means they need to be produced better and faster to meet that demand.

The buyer

The insured transaction concerns the supply of a production line for insulating and acoustic wood wool cement boards. For this, Eltomation will provide the turn-key delivery of the entire production line, including engineering, project management, product data management, supervision during installation of the machine and commissioning. The buyer will also receive the necessary training to properly operate and maintain the machine.

The buyer and beneficiary of the warranty is Cewood SIA from Latvia. A 100% Latvian company employing more than 100 FTE and with a production facility in Jaunlaicene, in the Aluksnes district. This region is rich in forests and (small-diameter) pine - the main raw material for CEWOOD panels. CEWOOD is a material made of high-quality fine and long wood fibres (wood wool). Cement with the addition of water is used as a binder. Previously, wood wool cement board was mainly used for insulation and building construction. Today, Cewood mainly produces high-quality acoustic and design panels used in various interior design solutions around the world, especially in Europe, Asia and the US. Thus, the company has representative offices in several countries, including the Netherlands, through Prinmac te Bavel.

Eltomation

Independent guarantee cover and Counter-guarantee

Eltomation opted to take out insurance for this transaction for wrongful calls on the guarantees issued (stand-alone guarantee cover) and a Counter Guarantee. This has the advantage of not encumbering the credit margin with the bank and so they maintain availability over their working capital.
